The Dub Room Studio

Ryan Pate is a good friend of mine who runs one hell of a recording studio. After his first website was shut down, he wanted something similar (a one-pager) but turned it up a notch.

While building this site, I added fun sliders with information on the vintage gear he curates to make a great recording experience. While learning about his work, I researched what other recording studios had on their website. For his new site, we added some history of The Dub Room Studio and even more gear than he shared before.

The interesting challenge with this project was taking an existing website (someone else’s code) and rebuilding it with my own touch (and a bit more responsive).

Naked Infusions

My first experience with Shopify 2.0 themes was an absolute blast! Shopify 2.0 will make it easier for both developers and storeowners to create custom themes that work well.

This theme had some unique CSS challenges on the home page and collections while implementing the responsive design. As this was the client’s first Shopify store, I was able to help them figure out their shipping rates and find some creative solutions like the Variety Taster’s Pack to increase Average Order Value.

This project was a complete site overhaul. I was working with another digital marketing agency and their UX designer. The client’s previous developer used a premium Shopify theme with heavy customization.

While working on an initial landing page, I realized some of the customizations had broken inherent Shopify features like being able to choose the right variant and add-to-cart.

Once an initial landing page was completed, we focused on the Home Page and Collections page while also migrating the store’s recurring purchase provider over to ReCharge Payments. We created a front-end widget using the Shopify App Privy as a low-code option to increase the average order value by 20% within the first month.

During Black Friday, we had a tiered discount based on cart value. To make this easy for our client to customize, I used VolumeBoost by HulkApps for an easy front-end experience.

Along with handling the site development, I handled their email marketing campaigns. Within 3 months, I doubled the monthly revenue from their email channels while implementing a new welcome email series, post-purchase automation, and upsell campaigns.

MedRock

After working on the tail-end of HotRock’s Indiegogo campaign, I transitioned MedRock’s initial website from WooCommerce over to Shopify as Shopify’s built-in features would help the client as they scaled.

What made this particular project fun was finding the right balance between explaining the science behind the HotRock while also sharing how it makes you feel. Through a range of video testimonials, sliders with gifs of the product in use, and a little bit of copywriting magic, the site, was successful in converting customers.

Sud Stud

I met this client while running his Kickstarter campaign for the original Sud Stud in 2019.

After the campaign, I helped him transition to eCommerce while they worked on their V2 of the Sud Stud. Once the site was built, we started sales and collected leads for the upcoming Sud Stud V2 campaign on Indiegogo (which raised over $212,000) where we also launched a new artisan soap line.

With the V2 and soap line, I worked on setting up a subscription through ReCharge Payments and implemented Free Gifts at certain cart values for customers to add to their orders. In 2021, the brand went through a major change leading us to redesign most of the site while also introducing a new premium skincare line.

L7 Case

This client found success in Amazon but wanted to try and secure customers outside of the platform.

We mostly had product images, and nothing really showed the product in use. While building the site, we shot a ton of content (videos/images) to use on the site and in social media ads.

While doing so, I was able to optimize the Amazon product listings, which improved this sales channel even further.
